MADEC Australia is a successful community owned not-for-profit and charitable organisation with a proud 50 year history of providing relief to people experiencing poverty and/or distress. Employing around 180 staff across the country and with a turnover circa up to $200m, MADEC delivers employment services, education and training, a pacific labour mobility scheme and indigenous programs. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this pivotal senior role will work in partnership with the executives and have responsibility for: proactively contributing to the strategic direction of the organisation as the key financial adviser to the CEO and Board; elevating financial literacy across the organisation; integrating technology to improve data capture and achieve efficiency gains necessary for business transformation and growth; leading, managing, mentoring and developing a dedicated finance team; ensuring comprehensive analysis and information provision to support and articulate key business decisions; maintaining and enhancing important relationships with key external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be an appropriately qualified (preferably CA/CPA) and contemporary senior finance executive with demonstrated capability to guide the organisation through financial transformational change. Essential qualities sought include strong commercial and political acumen, together with superior communication, negotiation, stakeholder management and leadership capacity and financial modelling. Warmth, empathy, integrity, strategic insight and credibility will also be necessary to identify, inspire and activate positive change.
