ABOUT THE ROLE As the Director of Sales, you will be a key leader in driving sales growth for Silk Hospitality and its related entities. This strategic role focuses on B2B sales, with a hands-on approach to closing deals, managing the sales pipeline, and driving revenue growth within the hospitality and hotel sectors. You will be responsible for developing proposals, bidding on tenders, and adapting to various sales situations with autonomy. The role requires significant resilience and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders, including the owners. With regular interstate travel needs, you will be responsive, proactively fostering client relationships and consistently identifying and actioning business growth and expansion opportunities. Sales Strategy & Growth: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to drive revenue growth. Actively manage the sales pipeline, identify and secure new business opportunities. Business Development & Relationship Management: Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities, including developing and presenting proposals for tenders. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders to foster long-term partnerships. Customer & Market Analysis: Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication, problem-solving and service delivery. Stay abreast of market trends, competitor activities and customer needs. Revenue & Margin Responsibility: Drive the conversion strategy for new and existing business and contribute to gross margin. Client Negotiation & Stakeholder Relationships: Act as the primary contact for major clients, demonstrating strong negotiation skills to resolve issues and build trust-based relationships. Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Exceptional emotional intelligence is required, as well as the ability to adapt communication and leadership styles to meet the needs of any situation. Team Leadership & Development: Lead, coach, mentor and develop high-performing team members, ensuring succession planning and talent retention. ABOUT YOU Ideal Candidate Experienced & Motivated Closer: You possess over five years of leadership experience in Sales & Marketing, specifically within the hotel & hospitality industries. You have a proven track record of success in a sales role within the hotel industry. Exceptional Communicator & Negotiator: You are a confident communicator with high energy and a natural ability to connect with people. You possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to engage, influence and negotiate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including major clients. Growth-Oriented & Adaptable: You are flexible, dynamic and resilient, with a proactive “can-do” attitude. People Centric: You have a track record of leading diverse teams, fostering collaborative work environments and developing talents. Commercial Acumen: You have a strong track record of high-quality, value-aligned decision-making that drives business growth. Strategic Thinker: You are highly organised, detail-oriented and capable of working independently and as part of the broader leadership team. Willingness for Extensive Interstate Travel: Availability and willingness to travel regularly and on an ad-hoc basis across multiple states as per business needs. Relevant Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, or a related field (highly desirable).
