Position Overview : We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Ship's Master / Port Captain at ASP Ships Management Pty Ltd. Tasks & responsibilities : Responsible for safe navigation, safe and efficient cargo handling and shipboard operations, health, safety, security and environmental protection. Monitor and ensure that the ships perform to required standards in Navigation and Marine Operations Responsible for Maintaining all Marine standards on board assigned vessels. Implement and maintain a safe operational standard in compliance with Group's HSSEQ System as well as International Marine regulations for the vessel assigned. Co-ordinate the development and implementation of procedures to ensure compliance with relevant requirements and regulations. To improve the safety and performance by raising the safety awareness of all shipboard personnel through communication and training. Monitor the performance and compliance of ASP Ship Management's Integrated Quality System through the completion of vessel internal audits and ship inspections, as required by the ISM Code, SIRE, CDI or Rightship. Advise Ship Managers and Principals on nautical matters such as navigation, loading, stability, draft restrictions, and cargo handling facilities. Undertake internal company audits. Conduct training of shipboard personnel in the ASP Ship Management Integrated Quality System Conduct ship audit/safety/inspections. Guide shipboard HSSE Committees to identify workplace hazards. Review and close HSSE opportunities. Liaise with and advise shore-based Ship Managers regarding the maintenance of safe working practices. Assist with the analysis of critical tasks and the development of formally documented procedures to ensure the safe and efficient operation of these tasks. Conduct on board Occupational Health and Safety workplace assessments as necessary. Provide an assessment of vessels about general health, safety, security and environment protection standards, which can be used in the development and implementation of target area improvement programs. Actively endorse, support, and enforce all ASP Tanker Management policies and procedures. Participate in ASP Tanker Management's Health, Safety, Security and Environment protection programs. Conduct annual on-board navigation audits. Input navigation audit results into the navigation audits database and follow up on all deficiencies and defects to closure. Liaise with principals regarding safe vessel operations. Assist in maintenance and updating of the HSSEQ Management System. Risk Assessment, monitoring & evaluation Qualifications and Experience : STCW recognized Certificate of Competency Class I (Master Mariner) At least five (5) years of relevant experience.
