In this role, you’ll be a key subject matter expert, providing strategic and operational support to project teams, contractors, and leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement in environmental performance. Key responsibilities include: Develop and implement initiatives to ensure compliance with applicable environmental legislation, company policies, and industry best practices. Conduct audits and facilitate risk assessments to identify environmental risks and ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented. Provide expert advice, guidance, training and educational awareness to senior leadership, project managers, and contractors on environmental matters. Develop and maintain project or site-specific environmental risk management plans and procedures. Provide SME input in investigation of environmental incidents to determine root causes and ensure lessons learned are implemented. Assist in preparing documentation for approvals and environmental licensing as required, in addition prepare environmental reports, audits, and compliance documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Engage with local communities and stakeholders to support environmental initiatives. Develop and lead continuous improvement initiatives of our Environmental Management Systems. Be part of the solution Bachelor’s degree Environmental Science or Occupational Health and Safety, or related field. Experience in developing and implementing environmental management plans and improvement plans across multiple sites. Effective communicator with proven stakeholder engagement across all levels. In-depth understanding of environmental legislation and statutory requirements (WA – required; Australia-wide – desirable) Knowledge of environmental management practices and regulations specific to the energy and resources industry. ICAM, TapRooT, Five Why’s or equivalent incident investigation certification (desirable). Proficient in digital HSE management systems and reporting tools.
