Tenancy AdvocateLocation: North Booval, QLDSCHADS 4.1 Join our team as a full-time (or 0.8), on-site Tenancy Advocate and make a direct impact on the lives of vulnerable tenants. You will empower clients by:Providing expert advice on tenancy lawsProactively mediating disputes with landlordsEducating clients on their legal rights and responsibilities Your work will be hands-on and include:Conducting client interviewsMeticulously reviewing tenancy agreementsProviding strong advocacy and support during QCAT tribunal hearingsMaintaining comprehensive client records QualificationsA strong grasp of tenancy law, particularly the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008 and its updates (or an ability to learn/ continual learning)Proven experience in advocacy, negotiation, and conflict resolutionExceptional communication skills (both written and verbal)Ability to work autonomously and collaborate effectively with a teamA genuine sense of empathy for and understanding of vulnerable populationsMeticulous and timely record-keeping skillsA bachelor's degree in law, social work, or a related field is preferredPrevious experience in a tenancy or advocacy-related role is highly regarded (Eg property manager)
