Position: General Manager - Australia Reporting to: CEO APAC/ME Business Travel is the lifeblood of the global economy and for over 60 years, Reed & Mackay has been at its forefront. We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our Australian business. With a focus on operations, sales, and account management, the General Manager will be responsible for leading the local team in Sydney. Role Summary Reporting to the CEO APAC/ME, the role will be responsible for leading the local team to achieve both operational efficiency and revenue growth. This role requires a blend of a growth mindset, strategic planning, operational oversight and client relationship management. Key responsibilities include managing customer relations, ensuring operational excellence and driving sales through Global partnerships. Key Responsibilities Operations Management: Overseeing local day-to-day operations - Ensuring smooth and efficient business operations across all relevant departments Managing local resources - Ensuring the availability of necessary resources including staff, equipment, and maximizing productivity. Implementing continuous improvement - Driving initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness Optimizing processes - Identifying areas for improvement in workflows and implementing solutions to enhance productivity. Responsible for ensuring compliance with the Reed & Mackay and Navan Group policies and compliance with sanctions controls as supported by the Legal & Compliance team. Client Success Management: Managing key client relationships - Building and maintaining existing strong relationships with strategic clients. Ensuring customer satisfaction - Monitoring client feedback and addressing any areas of concern or issues. Driving revenue growth - Identifying opportunities to expand business with existing clients. Developing account management strategies - Creating and implementing plans to maximize client value and retention. Reporting on account performance - Providing regular updates to executive management on account status and performance. Sales Management: Developing and implementing local market sales strategies - Creating and executing plans to drive sales growth and market expansion in line with Group remit. Building and maintaining customer relationships - Fostering strong relationships with key local clients and stakeholders. Negotiating contracts and agreements - Managing negotiations with local clients and partners to secure favorable terms in collaboration and in compliance with the standards provided and with the Reed & Mackay Legal & Compliance team in London. Identifying new business opportunities - Seeking out and developing new sales leads and opportunities in line with Group. Budget management - Monitoring and managing local budgets, financial statements, and Australian team performance metrics. Key Skills & Experience Previous ownership of a business unit or function and proven ability to develop and execute business strategies, driving both top and bottom-line growth. Strong leadership and management skills - Ability to motivate and inspire teams, delegate effectively, manage performance and develop and empower staff to deliver above and beyond Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, build relationships, and negotiate effectively. Particularly key focus in this role, due to the requirement of remote reporting line(s). Proven track record in sales and account management - Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and manage client relationships. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop solutions to problems. Financial acumen – Excellent understanding of budgets, financial statements, and KPIs Strategic thinking - Ability to develop and implement business strategies to achieve company goals across short, medium and long term. Industry knowledge – an understanding of the Corporate Travel and Events industry.
