The Opportunity We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Geologist to join our Adelaide office. You will be part of our accomplished Geotechnical and Tunnels section and will work alongside our established team of Geotechnical and Tunnelling technical experts, assisting in delivering successful projects. Your role will also be well supported across our business, with skilled resources in other sections. Your technical expertise will be deployed across projects in the transport, power, water, mining, property and government sectors to continue the growth of an already successful and reputable capability. What You Will Do Conduct survey analysis on the behaviour and mechanics of soil and rock when placed under pressure by proposed structuresInvestigate geological formations and ground behaviour and conduct scientific investigations and testing to understand the impact of these formations on the design and construction of geotechnical and tunnel projects.Conduct studies of the structure, nature and formation of the earth’s crust to inform against geotechnical and civil engineering design.Conduct fieldwork activities including site investigations (geotechnical and geological), soil logging and other activities including soil and groundwater sampling.Study the effects of natural events such as erosion, sedimentation, earthquakes and ground instability on engineering project site developments for geotechnical and civil engineersAll aspects of field observations and site investigations of small to large scale engineering projectsManage, perform analysis and carry out geological and geotechnical reporting for projectsProvide safety leadership in identifying and alleviating/ eliminating high priority safety hazardsPrepare proposals and technical reports for clients. What We Will Love About You Tertiary degree in Geology or Engineering Geology, or equivalent qualification.At least 2 years’ experience performing a similar roleWillingness to travel and work on remote sites when requiredExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWell-developed interpersonal skillsProven track record of independent work and ability to work effectively within a team environmentValid manual driver’s license The salary for the position is $87,000 (Total Remuneration Package inclusive of 12% superannuation).
