YOUR ROLE The Team Leader, Student Behaviour Support will support the development and implementation of sector, school and student level Student Behaviour Support programs and initiatives across the Archdiocese of Melbourne. This role will oversee and coordinate the work of the Behaviour Support Specialists and Learning Partners, Behaviour in their work providing assessment, targeted support and school intervention across Tiers 2 and 3 of the multi-tier system of support. You will be leading a team across the Eastern and Southern region. The right candidate for this role can start in 2026. Description WHAT YOU WILL DO Collaborate with the Manager, Student Behaviour Support, to lead the team, including members based in regional offices. providing professional guidance, contributing to strategic planning, overseeing work output, managing performance, supporting professional development and managing escalated cases Coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of Student Behaviour Support initiatives with a focus on a one-to-one approach for student services and a one-to-many approach to capacity building Support the development, documentation, communication and implementation of MACS policy initiatives related to Student Behaviour Support Liaise with teams within the Student Engagement team and the Education Excellence directorate to coordinate and provide responses in relation to the implementation and delivery of Student behaviour Support initiatives Ensure appropriate metrics are collected and analysed to help inform the implementation of Student Behaviour Support initiatives aligned with strategic priorities Maintain ongoing evidence-based learning through participation in MACS and other relevant provider professional development. Keep abreast of current research and government policies Accurately document case notes and consultations with schools and related recommendations consistent with MACS policies, ICT tools and Student Engagement guidelines ABOUT YOU Proven leadership experience in behaviour management teams, Catholic education or other relevant area, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Demonstrated experience and expertise in working with students with escalated behaviour, diversity and inclusive education, including an understanding of policies, assessment, and reporting within a Catholic education context A comprehensive understanding and ability to apply current best-practice in assessment and management of students with diverse regulation and behavioral needs within an educational setting Demonstrated understanding of contemporary, evidence-based teaching and learning approaches and behaviour systems including the impact of trauma and Autism Ability to lead and build a positive team culture across various locations whilst successfully developing, supporting and implementing MACS Student Behaviour Support initiatives and programs in line with strategic priorities Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including expertise in presenting and negotiating with internal and external MACS stakeholders HOW TO APPLY Please refer to the position description for further details about the role and the Key Selection Criteria.
