Job Description Ability Action Australia's Gold Coast team are looking for an experienced BSP or candidates considering a new career pathway within Behaviour Support - that come from a strong background in either the disability or mental health sector. Responsibilities will include: Assisting NDIS participants, along with their families and/or carers, to manage challenging behaviours to improve their quality of life, and develop new skills You will complete thorough assessments to understand behaviour triggers, identify risks & consider specific strategies to improve behaviour outcomes You will develop Behaviour Support Plans and provide support to families and/or carers, for consistent implementation Maintain a caseload with ongoing monitoring, support and make adjustments where required. Develop meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework, with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community Ensuring individual plans reflect our NDIS participants' goals, passions and strengths, as well as ensuring they get more out of life Build the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers or friends Act as an advocate and role model for best practice Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team As you support many, we support you.
