The Manning Entertainment Centre (MEC) currently has two exciting vacancies for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our Production Team as Theatre Loaders. This is a great opportunity to be part of delivering high-quality live performances and cultural events for the local community. In this hands-on and physically active role, you’ll work alongside our Theatre Technicians and visiting production crews to ensure the smooth and safe setup and pack down of performances. It’s a perfect fit for someone who thrives in a team environment and enjoys the energy of live events. Key Responsibilities Assist with the installation, setup, and pack down of lighting, sound, staging, and other production equipment. Safely load and unload trucks and transport technical equipment. Support production crews with staging, set movements, and general backstage duties. Follow MEC’s safety procedures and report any issues promptly. Maintain a safe and professional working environment. Be available to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends. About You We’re looking for someone who is reliable, punctual, and able to take direction well, with a strong work ethic and a proactive attitude. You should be comfortable working as part of a team and physically capable of safely lifting and moving equipment. A willingness to learn and follow all safety and venue procedures is essential. While not required, previous experience in live theatre, events, or production support, along with a basic understanding of technical production (lighting, audio, staging) and a current White Card or knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety practices, would be an advantage. Remuneration: $30.72 p/h (plus 25% casual loading) Location: This position will be based at the Manning Entertainment Centre, 33 Manning River Drive, Taree NSW 2430. Tenure: Casual.
