This is a senior, hands-on engineering role that demands deep expertise in Java, distributed systems, and financial market technologies, particularly in the fixed income and IRS trading domain.You’ll be responsible for architecting and scaling mission-critical components including RFQ workflows, pricing integration, trade execution logic, and dealer UIs. This is an opportunity to lead cutting-edge trading system development in partnership with quants, traders, and technologists at a top-tier investment bank. Lead development of the eIRS in-house built application for electronic trading of IRS products including outrights, flys, spreads etc. Architect and implement RFQ state machines, pricing event wiring, and override messaging logic to enable the application. Deliver full support for voice trading workflows, including integration with MarkitWire SWML for Straight Through Processing (STP) Drive industrialisation of the eIRS engine, managing timing issues and race conditions. Collaborate with quant teams to integrate core pricing models for short-end curve instruments and relative value analytics (Z-score, Carry & Roll, XCCY RV) Publish trade and curve data to IDAP for analytics and dealer UI exposure. Lead engineering decisions on nested feeder curve implementations (C++ xCurves vs server-side builds) Mentor engineers across UI, platform, and backend domains to ensure delivery quality and velocity.Technical Skills Deep expertise in Java (8/17), Spring Boot, and distributed systems architecture Experience with IRS market platforms such as Tradeweb and MarkitWire Strong understanding of IRS instruments, pricing conventions, and swap templates Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, Redis, SNS, SQS), Kafka/EventHub, DevSecOps/CI/CD technologies as well as modern SRE technology.
