As an Associate Principal Consultant in our Climate and Decarbonisation Advisory team, you’ll be at the forefront of Australia’s clean energy transformation. In this influential role, you’ll lead complex, high-impact projects that shape strategic investment decisions and drive meaningful change across sectors. You’ll also play a key part in mentoring a talented team, all while delivering solutions that contribute to a more sustainable and resilient future. What You’ll Do Win and Lead Projects: Manage advisory projects from the proposal phase start to the finish, ensuring high quality, technical accuracy, and delivery on time and budget. Advise on Decarbonisation: Create practical strategies and action plans to help clients reduce emissions and transition to cleaner energy. Navigate Policy and Regulations: Help clients understand and comply with climate-related laws, standards, and Net Zero goals. Grow Client Relationships: Build strong connections with clients, identify new opportunities, and support business development through proposals and market insights. Support Team Growth: Mentor junior team members and help build a collaborative, high-performing team culture. Share Expertise: Represent WSP in industry forums and contribute to thought leadership through articles and presentations. Ensure Quality and Safety: Maintain WSP’s high standards for safety and quality in all work. Apply Technical Knowledge: Conduct emissions assessments, identify ways to cut carbon, and advise on energy-efficient technologies and sustainable practices. About You: A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., commerce, economics, engineering, science); postgraduate business qualifications highly regarded. 8–15 years’ experience in infrastructure, capital, or strategy advisory, ideally with exposure to energy, transport, water, or social infrastructure. Strong understanding of Australia’s energy market transition and climate policy landscape. Proven ability to lead projects, manage stakeholders, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
