About the Role Reporting directly to the CEO, the Deputy CEO is the agency’s most senior corporate executive and leads TIQ's critical corporate and operational functions including Finance, ICT, HR, Legal, Governance, Risk, Procurement, Strategy, and Performance. This role is focused on ensuring the organisation operates with discipline, integrity, and remains delivery-focused. The Deputy CEO plays a pivotal role in aligning TIQ’s people, systems, and operations with its Strategic Plan. This includes: Driving organisational performance, reform, and digital uplift to enable trade and investment growth. Leading corporate services to ensure robust governance, compliance, and accountability. Partnering with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to deliver Queensland Government trade and investment priorities. Shaping whole-of-government strategies and providing policy advice to Ministers, the Premier, and senior officials. Building enduring stakeholder relationships across government, industry, and international partners. This role is central to advancing Queensland’s economic prosperity by ensuring TIQ has the capability, agility, and leadership to deliver on strategic priorities such as growing exports, attracting foreign direct investment, enabling renewable energy transition, and building a skilled workforce for the future. About You You are a proven senior executive who thrives in complex, high-profile environments. With experience leading large corporate and operational functions, ideally in government or globally connected organisations, you bring: Deep knowledge of trade, investment, economic development, and Queensland’s sectoral strengths. Strong governance, risk, and compliance expertise. Exceptional leadership capability, able to inspire high-performing executive teams and drive organisational reform. Outstanding political judgement and stakeholder engagement skills, including working with Boards, Ministers, and central agencies. A global outlook, with international literacy and understanding of Australia’s trade and diplomatic relationships.
