Non- Executive Director Country to Coast Queensland About CCQ: Country to Coast Queensland (CCQ) delivers the primary health network (PHN) program for Central Queensland, Wide Bay and Sunshine Coast on behalf of the Commonwealth Department of Health. CCQ’s diverse and dynamic region covers 161,108 km2 from Sunshine Coast to Rockhampton and across to Emerald. The population in the region is just under 1M people with around 68% living regionally or remotely and more than 28% living in the most disadvantaged quintile. CCQ collaborates with the community to provide exceptional primary healthcare services to reduce health inequalities for the region. As a primary health network CCQ work to develop a deep understanding of the community’s health needs and commission health services that build capacity. About The Opportunity: We are seeking expressions of interest to join CCQ’s Board as a Non-Executive Director. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your expertise to shaping the future of primary health care across one of Queensland’s most diverse regions. We are looking for individuals with: Strong regional connections and a commitment to the health and wellbeing of communities across Country to Coast Queensland. Candidates with lived experience, or professional experience working in rural, regional, or remote communities are strongly encouraged to apply. Understanding of the opportunities to work with and support the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and organisations in the region we serve. Deep understanding of primary health care and the broader health landscape , including the challenges of health reform, commissioning and integrated care models. Experience working across the primary health system , with insight into how general practice, allied health, community health and hospital services intersect to improve patient outcomes. Established stakeholder networks across government, health providers, and community organisations, with the ability to leverage these to support collaboration and innovation. Prior governance experience on public, private, or not-for-profit Boards, supported by governance education (e.g. AICD qualifications), and the confidence to contribute as an independent, strategic thinker. As a NED you will play a central role in strengthening regional leadership, investing for impact and building the capability of the primary health system to meet the needs of local people today and into the future.
