2 year role Based in Brisbane CBD Eden Ritchie Recruitment is seeking a strategic and analytical Principal Infrastructure Services Officer to provide leadership in relation to infrastructure and planning related systems, policies and projects. Working within a key Queensland Government department, you will support team operations and project teams, as well as advise executive management and other stakeholders such as Regional Directors and Principals. Demonstrated experience performing key responsibilities High-level experience in policy and strategy development related to asset management, infrastructure planning, or maintenance programs. Proven ability to plan, evaluate, and improve infrastructure and maintenance programs across multiple sites (e.g., schools, early childhood centres, housing). Experience providing strategic advice to senior executives, preparing ministerial correspondence, and producing high-quality reports for a range of stakeholders. Mandatory requirements Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience in infrastructure services, asset management, facilities management, or a related discipline. Knowledge of public sector governance, compliance, and accountability frameworks. Commitment to the Queensland Public Service values, human rights, and fostering inclusive workplaces Desirable attributes Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate programs, interpret complex data, and develop evidence-based strategies. Understanding of contemporary asset management principles and infrastructure lifecycle planning. Ability to establish and maintain strategic networks to support best practice approaches. Experience leading or contributing to organisational change and continuous improvement. Communication skills Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and persuasively, both in writing and verbally, with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Proven experience preparing clear and concise briefing notes, reports, and correspondence for executives and Ministers. Strong consultation and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and manage competing stakeholder needs. Leadership and team management Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, provide guidance, and build capability in others. Ability to mobilise talent, inspire others, and build enduring relationships to deliver collaborative outcomes. Proven ability to lead projects and manage relationships with service delivery partners (e.g., QBuild).
