What You’ll Work On As a Backend AI Intern, you’ll help design and scale AI features that make BiteMate smarter and more conversational. You’ll also gain hands-on experience with AI agents—modular components that can handle dierent types of user requests and workflows. Responsibilities • Build and maintain AI-driven backend services using Python & Flask. • Work with Azure OpenAI (GPT models, embeddings) to enable conversational and recommendation features. • Implement and experiment with RAG pipelines to blend restaurant data, menus, and loyalty info with AI responses. • Design and query vector databases for semantic search (menus, dietary preferences, local food trends). • Explore and integrate AI agent frameworks to support chat-based interactions like recommendations, queries, or ordering. • Collaborate with frontend and cloud teams to deliver features quickly and at scale. What We’re Looking For • Studying or recently graduated in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or related field. • Strong Python skills (Flask or FastAPI experience a plus). • Familiarity with Azure OpenAI or OpenAI APIs (chat/completion, embeddings). • Interest in AI agents and conversational systems that go beyond simple Q&A. • Understanding of RAG architectures (combining structured unstructured data). • Knowledge of SQL databases (Azure SQL or MS SQL preferred) Nice to Have • Exposure to LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or other agent frameworks. • Experience with recommendation systems or NLP projects. • Familiarity with Docker, cloud deployment, or Azure Cognitive Search. • Passion for food-tech and startups!
