OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Warehouse Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehousing and distribution operations at a remote warehouse site. This role manages a small team of warehouse staff, ensures effective planning and coordination of freight movements, and maintains accurate inventory control. The role also ensures the site operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and WHSE standards. Warehousing & Inventory Management Oversee and participate in day-to-day warehouse operations, including goods receipt, storage, picking, and dispatch. Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile stock discrepancies. Ensure inventory management systems are updated accurately and in line with company guidelines. Maintain warehouse layout and optimise space utilisation. Manage product returns in accordance with company procedures. Ensure stock is clearly labelled, secured, and stored safely. Distribution & Freight Coordination Plan and coordinate freight requirements, including inbound and outbound deliveries. Schedule and allocate trucks for timely fulfilment of internal and external delivery commitments. Oversee and participate in the safe loading and unloading of vehicles. Source and oversee freight contractors to maintain site distribution capability. Monitor and report on delivery performance (DIFOT). Identify and escalate issues relating to freight, delivery, or customer service. Site & Facilities Management Maintain warehouse facilities, equipment, and surrounding areas to required standards. Engage and coordinate service providers for site and equipment upkeep. Ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory WHSE standards. Monitor site risks and implement corrective actions where required. People Leadership & Development Supervise a small team of warehouse staff, providing clear direction and support. Train and coach team members on safe work practices, standard operating procedures, and efficient warehouse methods. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Monitor performance, provide feedback, and support staff development. Administration & Reporting Maintain local office and administrative functions as required. Report site performance metrics, inventory accuracy, and freight performance to management. Escalate issues relating to stock security, customer concerns, or business risks to management. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in warehousing and logistics processes. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS On-time, in-full (DIFOT) performance to agreed standards. Inventory accuracy within agreed tolerance levels. Compliance with WHSE and quality requirements. Staff development, engagement, and cross-skilling achieved to agreed standards. Efficiency of warehouse operations and freight coordination. SKILLS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB Proven experience in warehousing, logistics, or distribution operations. Strong inventory management and stock control knowledge. Good computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook; ERP/WMS experience desirable). Effective time management, problem-solving, and organisational skills. Ability to supervise and motivate small teams in a remote site environment. Strong customer service and communication skills. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and LICENSING REQUIREMENTS HSC or equivalent. Forklift licence (essential). Current Driver's Licence (essential).
