The role: We are looking for a permanent full time Health Information Manager to join our Richmond Support Office. Position Title: Health Information Manager Department: MSI Australia, Quality Risk and Safety Team Location: MSI Australia, Richmond Support Office Reports to: Quality Risk and Safety Manager Position: 1 x Permanent, Full Time position. 76 hours per fortnight. Your purpose: The Health Information Manager (HIM) supports the management of the eHealth/Health information systems within the organisation. You will ensure that we are compliant in all aspects of medical record management. You will undertake and manage the reporting and coding requirements across our national network of day hospitals and medical clinics will process the release of information and other medico-legal requests and will be key in assisting us with our digital transformation program, including electronic medical records. Your Responsibilities: Manage daily operations of Health Information Services across multiple states (WA, NSW, QLD, ACT, VIC), including leadership of clinical and non-clinical teams. Oversee stakeholder and vendor relationships, including chairing monthly admin meetings and engaging with internal and external parties. Ensure compliance with legal and privacy obligations, including acting as Privacy Officer, handling Release of Information (ROI), and managing medico-legal requests. Lead and contribute to governance and strategic initiatives, such as Clinical Governance Committee participation and health information projects. Drive system optimisation and digitisation efforts, including medical record digitisation and enhancement of care models and information systems. Manage data reporting, audits, and policy development, including statutory/regulatory reporting (e.g. VAED, PHISCo), coding audits, and health information policy review. What we need: Relevant qualifications: Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent) and eligibility for HIMAA membership. Minimum 2 years' experience in a HIM or similar role within the Australian healthcare system, including clinical coding (ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS 11th edition). Experience in data reporting, with regulatory (e.g. ACHS, Inform My Care) and statutory datasets (e.g. VAED, PHISCo) highly desirable. Proficient in health information systems and software applications, with strong computer and analytical skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work collaboratively within a team.
