Overview TWH Advisory is partnering with one of Melbourne’s leading property professional services businesses to bring this newly created Head of Finance & Operations role to market. As a premium multi-disciplinary consulting and services business, our client supports their client’s property projects from inception to completion, enabling asset owners to maximise their chances of seeing their high value projects and developments come to life. This executive role will be based in corporate offices in the Paris end of Collins Street. This new role reports principally to the Managing Director and founder of the business, and is an important business partner to five other Equity Directors. The Head of Finance & Operations delivers initiatives to manage the firm’s financial performance and provide oversight of all business operations portfolios. The role is critical to meeting the firm’s compliance obligations, building a strong culture, ensuring financial integrity, delivering operational efficiency and embedding a discipline of continuous improvement. The Head of Finance & Operations will be responsible for overseeing the commercial operations and financial reporting requirements of the company whilst ensuring the organisation is adequately prepared for the scale required to achieve their strategic objectives. By providing informed commercial and strategic insights to the shareholders, key financial metrics will be achieved and operating risks will be well managed. The successful candidate will excel in a team environment partnering effectively with the Equity Directors, staff, property industry stakeholders, clients and service providers. They will also be highly pro-active, independent, show good judgement and be capable of executing their role with minimal instruction and supervision. Responsibilities Oversee commercial operations and financial reporting requirements of the company. Ensure preparation for scale needed to achieve strategic objectives. Provide informed commercial and strategic insights to shareholders; achieve key financial metrics and manage operating risks. Partner with Equity Directors, staff, stakeholders and service providers; maintain collaboration. Demonstrate pro-activity, independence, sound judgement, and ability to execute with minimal instruction and supervision. Qualifications A Commerce/Accounting degree and be CAANZ/CPA qualified. Experience in a Finance Manager / General Manager role including accountability to Boards & Equity Directors and managing a broad range of stakeholders. Commercial and strategic leadership experience within growth-oriented enterprises (professional services and/or premium service businesses preferred). Strong general understanding of finance, technology, business development and marketing, risk and HR. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling/analysis. Strong working knowledge of Xero and experience with financial or CRM system implementations. Experience managing payroll, taxation, financial reporting, working capital and compliance obligations. Proven ability to supervise and lead small teams while managing competing priorities. Experience preparing succinct executive-level reporting packs. Experience developing internal policies and implementing appropriate control frameworks. Strong commercial acumen and demonstrated experience developing effective business cases. High standards of professionalism, integrity and ethics in line with the responsibilities of the position and representing a recognisable organisation.
