A forward-thinking organisation is seeking a Senior Platform Architect to drive the evolution of its modern data and cloud architecture. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is passionate about designing scalable, future-proof data platforms that empower teams across the business. Length: Long-Term (6 months rolling) Location: Sydney (Hybrid) What you’ll do: Architect and implement modern cloud-native data platforms, with a focus on AWS. Design and configure data platform solutions (e.g., Snowflake) for diverse user groups including Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Analysts, and Business Stakeholders. Develop integration patterns and ensure platforms are optimised for usability and scalability. Leverage modern ingestion, transformation, and orchestration tools (such as Fivetran, DBT, Coalesce, Astronomer, and Airflow). Apply data management best practices, including Master and Reference Data Management and Data Quality frameworks. Contribute to event streaming architecture using technologies such as Kafka and data governance using tools like Alation. Collaborate cross-functionally to translate strategic business needs into technical solutions. Navigate ambiguity, manage multiple priorities, and maintain clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Foster an agile and outcome-driven mindset within cross-functional teams. What you’ll bring: 5 years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred). Hands-on experience architecting and implementing modern data platforms, ideally with Snowflake. Experience working with modern data stack tools for ingestion, transformation, and orchestration. Solid understanding of data management concepts and event-driven architecture. Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience. Strong strategic thinking and the ability to align technical solutions with business goals. Experience with both agile and traditional delivery methodologies.
