We have an exciting opportunity for a Process Quality Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Quality and Compliance Team Leader Description Key Purpose The Process Quality Engineer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving process quality systems for both our manufacturing and secure manufacturing environments. The role ensures compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and customer-specific requirements while working closely with cross-functional teams to drive product and process quality. A key part of the role is supporting the development of new manufacturing processes to meet the needs of both internal product lines and contract manufacturing customers. Job Responsibilities: Monitor, develop, and improve manufacturing and quality processes—ensuring consistent product quality, compliance with customer-specific and contract manufacturing requirements, and alignment of quality systems with GMEs overall business objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and process owners to develop, document, and standardise quality-focused business processes—using tools such as process mapping, flowcharts, and swim lanes—to ensure clarity, efficiency, and consistent integration of quality requirements across new and existing operations. Actively participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, including the development of work instructions, process flows, and quality control plans to ensure smooth and high-quality product launches. Lead the implementation and adherence to documented processes across all business and new product development projects. Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards. Ensure all activities comply with secure manufacturing protocols, protecting sensitive information, IP, and controlled products. Monitor compliance by analysing key quality metrics (e.g., NCR’s, CAPAs, FAIRs, inspections and maintenance), and lead corrective actions to address poor performance or negative trends. Participate in internal and external audits (including, but not limited to, ISO9001, ISO14001, AS9100, TUV, etc.), ensuring GME’s continued certification and compliance. Provide guidance and support to project teams on the application of documented processes and quality requirements. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Assurance, with a progressive increase in responsibilities. Demonstrated experience in developing and documenting business processes and managing document control systems. Proven experience in ensuring project compliance with documented processes and identifying areas for improvement. Experience in preparing for and supporting internal and external audits (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100). Experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives within a quality management system. Qualifications, Certifications and Memberships Required: Must be able to obtain and maintain an NV1 Australian Security clearance Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (Electronics Desirable but not essential). Lead Auditor Certification (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100) desirable. Formal certification and extensive practical experience in advanced process mapping and business process re-engineering methodologies. Formal training and certification in Document Management Systems and best practices. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification (desirable).
