Your role at St John of God Midland Hospital St John of God Midland Public & Private Hospitals are excited to offer an opportunity for a suitably qualified Podiatrist to join our allied health team in a permanent part time capacity. In this role, you will contribute to delivering a high-quality, efficient podiatry service for both inpatients and outpatients. This position is entry level and would suit a recent graduate or someone who would like to develop their career in the acute high-risk area. We will require someone to be available on Wednesday and Fridays, other days of work and the start date is negotiable. There is a possibility for up to 1 FTE to be available and for unsuccessful applicants for the permanent position to be considered for the casual pool or other similar vacancies in the near future. The Position Assesses, prescribes and implements podiatry treatment for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings Refers appropriately to podiatry preventative and community health programs in a timely fashion as required. Responsible for completing appropriate administrative duties arising. This requires liaison with the administration team, reporting of statistical data and completion of clinical documentation. Attends meetings and liaises with medical and other health professionals Uses an evidence-based, problem-solving approach to clinical Podiatry care. Demonstrates consolidated, current knowledge of research, evidence-based practice in Podiatry and related clinical areas. As relevant, supervises and supports Allied Health Assistants and Podiatry students to deliver effective services. Attends relevant training sessions offered by SJGHC. Satisfactory completion of all annual mandatory and unit-based competencies as required. Accepts responsibility for maintaining and strengthening own professional knowledge and expertise. Maintenance of own continuing professional development portfolio as required Position Requirements The successful applicant will hold a tertiary qualification in Podiatry and be currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). They will demonstrate the ability to provide podiatry services independently, with effective communication and interpersonal skills. A strong capacity to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, along with established referral, liaison, and community networking abilities, is essential.
