Your Opportunity As the Aviation Support Workshop Manager , you will oversee the daily operations of our Components & Avionics Workshop, which includes specialised teams working in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), Composites, Paint, and Avionics . Your Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Operational Leadership - Lead the operational and financial performance of the Components & Avionics Workshop in Cairns. - Oversee planning and resourcing to ensure project deadlines, quality standards, and budget targets are met. - Ensure compliance with company policies and all relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., CASA Part 145, OEM requirements). People & Team Development - Coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, promoting accountability and continuous learning. - Conduct performance reviews, drive employee engagement, and oversee training plans to build capabilities for the future. - Foster a positive workplace culture that supports inclusion, safety, and career progression. Business & Financial Management - Develop and manage workshop budgets, monitor performance metrics, and ensure profitability targets are achieved. - Produce accurate forecasts and reports, and lead operational reviews to identify opportunities for improvement. - Control workshop costs while maintaining high standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement - Act as a key point of contact for OEMs, regulatory bodies, partners, and internal stakeholders. - Proactively manage customer expectations and resolve issues to ensure strong long-term relationships. - Represent Jet Aviation at industry events and meetings, promoting our brand and commitment to quality. What We're Looking For We are seeking an individual with a proven track record within aviation maintenance, workshop management or technical operations, who can lead with empathy and clarity while driving business results. You're someone who values people development, takes ownership of challenges, and brings a solution-oriented mindset to everything you do. What you will bring: - Min 5 years Experienced in managing aviation workshop operations (Components, Avionics, or related technical areas). - Technical qualifications in aircraft systems/maintenance/avionics or support trades - Strong understanding of compliance requirements in regulated aviation environments (e.g., CASA, Part 145). - Demonstrated leadership skills, with experience managing cross-functional teams or technical departments. - Commercial awareness and experience in budget/P&L management and reporting.
