Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director Infrastructure Sustainability leads Council’s largest directorate, spanning Infrastructure Planning, Delivery, and Maintenance, along with Open Space and Environment. With a team of around 140 staff and responsibility for a $32.2M operating budget and $35.8M capital program, this role carries significant influence and reach. You will sustain a strong record of capital works delivery, champion cultural improvement, and uplift customer accountability, while driving innovation in a resource-constrained environment. You will provide strategic advice and operational leadership to enable delivery of the Council Plan, embed high standards of governance and accountability, and engage confidently with Councillors, the community, and key partners. As a people leader, you will bring visibility, pace and clarity, building capability across your teams and inspiring performance through collaboration and trust. To succeed in this role, you will be an accomplished leader with senior executive experience in infrastructure, project delivery or related technical domains, ideally gained within local government or a strongly aligned regulatory sector. You will demonstrate political acumen, a customer-first ethos, and a proven ability to deliver results while shaping culture.
