What you’ll have Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Engineering, or related fields of study, expertise in botany, vegetation and flora, or heritage, would be an advantage. Extensive experience as a practicing environmental professional. Demonstrated experience coordinating or delivering WA State and Commonwealth environmental approvals (i.e. EP Act Part IV impact assessments, Part V works approvals and licensing, EPBC Act referrals and Environmental Management Plans) in the resources and energy sector or similar industry. Experience interacting with regulatory authorities such as the EPA, DWER, LGIRS and DCCEEW. Excellent communication and technical writing skills and the ability to engage effectively and build positive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. Desire to build networks and contribute to business development. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, and make presentations when required. The role responsibilities include: Preparing environmental impact studies and reports with terrestrial and/or marine components that will include documenting baseline information, potential impacts and recommending management actions. Develop Approval Strategies and provide strategic advice to engineering teams and clients regarding approval strategy and risk. Preparing permit and approval applications and modification documentation. Preparing and implementing environmental management plans. Preparing and implementing environmental monitoring programs. Managing and being involved in field work for data gathering for terrestrial and aquatic environments, including implementation of our HSE system. Preparing environmental risk assessments for a wide range of developments. Undertaking surveillance inspections and audits for a wide range of developments.
