Make your mark This newly created position offers the opportunity to shape the way finance policies and accounting standards are applied across NSW. In this role, you’ll provide expert advice to diverse stakeholders, support and lead the development of accounting policies and guidance and ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements – helping to drive both strategic and operational outcomes. Your deep technical accounting expertise will allow you to prepare high-quality technical papers, guide senior leaders through complex decisions, and build policy settings that strengthen financial governance across government. Click here to view the role description. About you You’re a CA or CPA-qualified professional who thrives where detail meets strategy. Known for your ability to interpret complex accounting concepts into practical, plain-English guidance, you’re just as comfortable preparing technical papers as you are at communicating and engaging with all levels of stakeholders. You have developed and maintained accounting policies and frameworks and supported in understanding and implementation of accounting standard changes. You’ll bring: Advanced technical accounting expertise with attention to detail. Demonstrated experience shaping finance policy or governance frameworks. Strong stakeholder management skills. Excellent verbal, written communication, and critical thinking skills. A track record of driving improvements in financial reporting processes and systems.
