Description About the role: As a Leader (Product Originations) within Technology & Transformation, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team that maintains and operates platforms that enable new customer products to be originated and Enterprise Content Management (ECM) services for Australia’s leading mutual bank. The role is responsible for providing technical leadership, people leadership and guidance in the design, development, deployment and maintenance of customer-centric platforms for the team. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional banking services, products, and applications directly used by customers or employees to support customers. This is a hands-on leadership role, the successful candidate will be able to jump on the tools at times to assist their team with configuration or development efforts when required. Key responsibilities include: Manage a development team: including performance, bonus and salary reviews, talent mapping, succession planning and individual development plans. Technical leadership: Provide expert technical leadership (in collaboration with the Technical Lead, Lending and Technical Lead, ECM) and guidance to the team on operational activities incl. incidents, problem resolution and integration projects. Change management: Lead and oversee changes into production, ensuring that development, design, testing, and verification adhere to strict ITIL standards and maintain strong Secure Stable & Resilient (SSR) standards, minimising impacts to members and staff. Team collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, delivery leads and analysts, to ensure effective collaboration and seamless integration with other systems and applications. Technical mentoring: Provide mentorship and guidance to other team members, fostering their technical growth and promoting knowledge sharing within the team. Stakeholder communication: Effectively communicate technical concepts, project updates, and platform enhancements to stakeholders, including management, sponsors, and other relevant teams. On Call: Manage & sometimes participate in an on-call roster for the team to ensure the stability and availability of our platforms. Appropriate remuneration applies. 2IC: Represent the Product Originations team at times when the Senior Leader, Product Originations is unavailable or requires support. Experience in a leadership role for IT development and operations – people and technology. About you: Success for this role is demonstrated by the management, delivery and support of solutions that are usable, stable, secure, compliant, and aligned to business objectives. The Leader (Product Originations) will achieve this by providing strong technical leadership and mentorship to the team, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring stakeholder satisfaction. Knowledge and Experience: Essential Experience leading people (internal staff and vendor partners) in software development or system configuration efforts. Experience handling incoming and outgoing escalations where required. Experience working closely with Technical Leads to supplement knowledge across the team. A thorough understanding on personal and residential lending processes in a financial institution. Other processes involved in originating other non-lending products is also beneficial. Expertise in managing major incidents, problem and change management using ITIL standards. Desirable Technical familiarity with current and/or future-state (preferred) systems is beneficial. Experience in configuring or managing a Loan Origination System (LOS) and how the end-to-end personal and residential lending process can be modelled using technology Experience working closely with Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platforms such as IBM FileNet or Hyland OnBase and how these supplement the LOS and business outcomes. Experience with third-party integrations to supplement the lending process (e.g., credit bureau interactions, comprehensive decisioning, property valuations etc.). Familiarity with multiple delivery methodologies and the ability to adapt to the selected project methodology. Essential Technical Acumen: Extensive financial services and IT development/operations experience. Familiarity with agile software development methodologies and leading people at different levels of agile maturity. Prior experience designing, delivering and/or maintaining complex technical solutions and the ability and experience of identifying and resolving complex technical issues. Sound documentation and written/verbal communication skills. Ability to articulate complex, technical solutions to audiences with varying technical understanding. Working knowledge of Servicenow. Working knowledge of Atlassian Jira Cloud. Working knowledge of Atlassian Confluence. ASP.NET Core and Framework – Model View Controller (MVC) pattern. Azure DevOps and GitLab. Qualifications and Memberships Essential Tertiary education in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Desirable Professional qualifications or training related to the current or future state systems.
