Overview: Jobs on Campus role – open to RMIT students and recent RMIT graduates Reporting to the Lead education Initiatives, the Educational Innovation Content Creator produces high-quality print and digital educational content for the Educational Innovation SharePoint Hub and interdisciplinary toolkit initiatives within the Centre for Education Innovation and Quality (CEIQ). In this casual position you will create innovative educational content combining videography and graphic design skills to produce short-form videos, multimedia resources and physical educational materials. You will work independently to deliver professional-quality content that aligns with CEIQ's educational innovation objectives and enhances student and staff learning experiences. This includes filming and editing short educational videos for SharePoint platforms, designing and creating a physical interdisciplinary toolkit, and ensuring all multimedia content meets university quality standards and accessibility requirements. The Educational Innovation Content Creator will collaborate with CEIQ staff to translate educational concepts into engaging visual content and participate in feedback sessions to refine and improve educational resources. The role provides hands-on experience with professional video production and graphic design within a university environment, offering opportunities to build a portfolio with actual educational projects while gaining insights into how educational content is created and delivered through digital platforms. Key Accountabilities Produce high-quality educational multimedia content including 7x2-3min chapter videos for SharePoint platforms, handling all aspects of videoing, editing, and post-production work to ensure alignment with educational objectives and quality standards. Design and create physical interdisciplinary toolkit, developing prototypes and final products that enhance educational innovation initiatives and support hands-on learning experiences. Ensure all multimedia content is optimised for SharePoint platforms, meets accessibility standards, and aligns with RMIT's educational technology requirements and brand guidelines. Work closely with CEIQ team members to understand content requirements, translate educational concepts into engaging visual formats, and participate in feedback sessions to refine educational resources. Complete all assigned deliverables within the specified timeline of 3 weeks work over an 8 week period, maintaining high professional standards and meeting project milestones. Ensure all produced content meets university standards for educational materials, including accessibility compliance and technical specifications. Key Selection Criteria Demonstrated proficiency in both video production (filming, editing, post-production) and graphic design, with ability to create high-quality multimedia educational content and physical design materials. Knowledge and experience in creating educational or instructional content, with understanding of how to translate complex concepts into engaging visual formats suitable for diverse learning audiences. Strong technical skills in video editing software, graphic design applications, and digital content creation tools, with ability to produce content optimised for web platforms including SharePoint. Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple deliverables simultaneously, and complete projects within specified timelines while maintaining high quality standards. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with academic staff and educational specialists to understand requirements and incorporate feedback into creative work. Strong creative and analytical problem-solving skills, with ability to develop innovative approaches to presenting educational content and resolve technical or design challenges independently. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite. Qualifications Hold a postgraduate degree or enrolled in a Bachelor qualification in a relevant discipline area , ie., multimedia, communications, graphic design, film/video production, or related creative field and/or equivalent proven experience in multimedia content creation Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children Check and other checks as required by the specific role.
