The Role We’re looking for skilled Quality Assurance Engineer to play a pivotal role in embedding quality assurance best practices within our Engineering and Infrastructure Team. This role is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend . You’ll work closely with the QA Manager to support the implementation of NGS’s Test Governance Framework, develop guidelines, and deliver high-quality testing outcomes across multiple projects. With a focus on both manual and automated testing within a Scrum methodology, you’ll design and execute test cases, develop automation solutions, and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines. Your work will directly support critical transformation projects, ensuring that quality is at the forefront of our software development lifecycle. What you’ll do: Support the QA Manager in researching, configuring, and implementing QA strategies, systems, and processes. Design, develop, and execute test cases across functional, non-functional, and exploratory testing. Create and maintain automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or TestNG, ensuring alignment with critical functionalities. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for streamlined testing processes. Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate QA into project timelines, ensuring adherence to deliverable schedules without compromising quality. Work closely with developers to understand system architecture and design better test coverage. Communicate findings and provide recommendations to enhance application reliability. Prepare clear, detailed test reports capturing results, defects, and quality metrics to inform QA Manager and development team actions. About you The preferred candidate brings proven experience in QA within a software development environment, strong technical skills in automation and CI/CD integration, and a collaborative mindset. Specifically, you will have: Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality assurance within software development. Proficiency with industry-standard testing frameworks and tools such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, Cypress, and Postman etc. Hands-on experience in automating test scripts and implementing CI/CD pipelines for streamlined testing processes. Expertise in analysing test results and defect trends to inform decision-making and prioritise fixes. Strong collaboration skills with the ability to problem solve and design and implement innovative testing solutions tailored to complex systems. Extensive understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies to align QA processes with iterative development cycles. Deep understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and the ability to integrate QA best practices throughout. Understanding of Superannuation QA Certifications and experience in AWS cloud are nice to have but not essential. Desirable: Knowledge of the superannuation industry. QA/testing certifications. Experience with AWS Cloud technologies. Background in testing web-based and serverless applications.
