QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Marine engineering or mechanic certification (preferred: STCW, AEC1/2, MEOL). Strong knowledge of diesel and petrol marine engines. Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing onboard systems (electrical, hydraulic, and plumbing). Understanding of safety regulations and preventive maintenance procedures. Ability to work in confined spaces and under time pressure. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a crew. EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS Previous experience as a marine mechanic, engineer, or technician (motor yacht, commercial vessel, or navy). Familiarity with propulsion systems, generators, water makers, and c Experience with marine hydraulics, steering systems, and thrusters. Proven ability to maintain engine room cleanliness and organisation. Comfortable with long periods at sea and flexible working hours. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES Engine & Propulsion Systems Service and repair main engines, gearboxes, propellers, and thrusters. Conduct oil, filter, and coolant changes. Fuel, Cooling & Electrical Systems Inspect and maintain fuel lines, tanks, and filters. Maintain cooling systems, impellers, pumps, and heat exchangers. Troubleshoot and repair DC/AC electrical systems, batteries, alternators, and navigation electronics. Hydraulics, Plumbing & Water Systems Maintain hydraulic steering, stabilizers, and winches. Service freshwater pumps, water makers, bilge pumps, and waste systems. Safety & Compliance Inspect and maintain fire suppression systems, alarms, and emergency pumps. Keep accurate maintenance logs in line with maritime regulations. General Support Assist in docking/undocking procedures. Maintain tender engines. Keep engine room clean, safe, and operational.
