About the role Mater Health is seeking a passionate and skilled Physiotherapist to join our Acute and Paediatric team in a permanent full-time role at our South Brisbane campus. As a member of the Acute and Paediatric Physiotherapy team, you will provide patient centred, evidence based clinical care in various caseloads such as; cardiorespiratory, medical, cystic fibrosis, surgical, oncology, breast surgery, lymphoedema, early inpatient rehabilitation and pulmonary rehabilitation program to a primarily adult population. Salary range: $39.86 - $58.59 per hour plus 12% superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be doing Typical tasks of the role include: Independently undertake routine clinical practice within established clinical protocols to achieve patient focussed outcomes Apply increasing clinical judgement to more complex cases under clinical practice supervision Provide delegation, supervision, training and support to less experienced health practitioners, allied health assistants, students, support staff and volunteers in the delivery of clinical services Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within professional and multidisciplinary teams Identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve clinical services and patient outcomes Actively participate in professional and multidisciplinary teams, and liaise with patients, their families/carers and external agencies to facilitate patient centred care About you Essential Qualifications Qualification in Physiotherapy as recognised by the Australian Physiotherapy Council Registration with AHPRA Eligibility to receive a Medicare provider number Skills, Knowledge and Experience At least 12 months experience working in an acute hospital setting is strongly desirable A well developed level of physiotherapy clinical knowledge in the area of acute care physiotherapy including intensive care A demonstrated ability to provide exceptional Physiotherapy clinical services commensurate with level, and to manage a varying caseload from day to day, including provision of an appropriate clinical handover as required Demonstrated attributes of solutions focus, flexibility and resilience Demonstrated clinical practice and application of clinical judgement in the provision of high quality, evidence based, patient centred care Effective communication skills and demonstrated ablity to work co-operatively with profession and multi-disciplinary teams, patients and carers to achieve optimal outcomes Demonstrated ability or ability to rapidly acquire skills to identify, develop and participate in quality and service improvement activities that improve clinical services and patient outcomes Be part of something bigger.
