The key duties of the position include The Role As an APS 6 Project Officer in the Nuclear Powered Submarine Regulatory Design (NPSRD) team you will be supporting project coordination and execution under the direction of the EL 1 Project Manager. This position will prepare and maintain documentation, including reporting, project schedules and risk registers. You will be expected to assist the milestone tracking and project governance support, and liaise with internal and external stakeholders related to the NPSRD projects. In addition you will also provide day to day administrative and delivery support across projects, and work in collaboration with teams across the NPSRD. The APS 6 Project Officer will contribute to planning and operational readiness activities as the NPSRD progresses towards Agency stand-up as the Australian Naval Nuclear Power Safety Regulator (ANNPSR). You will be key in building the internal project delivery capability aligned with the long term operating of the Agency. Due to the unique workplace context and sensitive work undertaken, candidates may be required to undergo additional suitability screening or assessments. Whilst this position has been advertised through Department of Defence, in line with the announcement made by the Australian Government on 14 Mar 23, this position will move to a new Statutory Agency with an effective yet to be confirmed.
