Senior Associate – Family Law Are you an experienced Family Lawyer looking to step into a senior role with full independence and the opportunity to make a real impact? This is an exciting opening for a passionate Senior Associate – Family Law to join a highly regarded practice that values expertise, client care, and career growth. About the Role As Senior Associate, you will take on the independent conduct of a diverse range of family law matters, including divorce, parenting, and property cases, along with panel work offered by Legal Aid NSW. You will represent clients in complex disputes, manage cases from initial consultation through to resolution, and provide strategic legal counsel at every stage. Your role will see you leading negotiations, mediations, and court appearances, while also mentoring junior lawyers and collaborating closely with colleagues to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients. Key Responsibilities Conduct a wide range of family law and Independent Children’s Lawyer (ICL) matters, including Legal Aid NSW panel work. Represent clients in high-conflict disputes, court proceedings, mediations, and appeals. Provide expert legal advice, documentation preparation, and strategic case management. Lead negotiations and mediation sessions to secure amicable client settlements. Conduct legal research and stay updated on family law regulations. Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals, and other legal professionals. Mentor and guide junior associates and support staff, fostering a positive and educational team culture. Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards, maintaining confidentiality and integrity at all times. About You You are a confident and skilled family lawyer with demonstrated experience in managing complex matters independently. You thrive in both courtroom advocacy and client negotiations, with a strong ability to balance empathy and professionalism.
