Responsibilities Lead and manage the grid connection process for renewable energy projects, including preparation and submission of Connection Applications and Generator Performance Standards (GPS). Collaborate with AEMO, NSPs, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant project approvals. Perform technical analysis for power systems studies, including load flow, fault level, dynamic stability, and protection assessments. Support the development of innovative solutions for energy systems integration and transmission planning. Provide subject-matter expertise on regulatory and operational requirements for new and existing grid connections. Ensure adherence to market energy rules, guidelines, and procedures, while identifying risks and mitigation strategies for the grid connection process. Keep up-to-date with evolving industry regulations, grid codes, and emerging trends in the energy market. Contribute to fostering an inclusive team culture that values collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation. Qualifications Essential A degree in Electrical Engineering , Power Systems Engineering , or a related field. Solid understanding of Australian grid connection processes, regulatory frameworks, and standards (e.g., NER, AEMO, NSP requirements). Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, including liaising with AEMO, NSPs, and developers to progress grid compliance. Proficiency using power systems software tools (e.g., PSS®E, PowerFactory, PSCAD) with the ability to conduct power flow and dynamic studies. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to manage multi-stakeholder environments. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in diverse, cross-functional teams. Desirable Postgraduate qualifications in Power Systems Engineering or a related field. Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, such as wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems. Experience with energy market operations and compliance in Australian contexts. Day-to-Day Analyze technical reports and assess feasibility for proposed renewable energy project grid connections. Engage with internal teams, AEMO, and NSPs to address GPS compliance and technical requirements. Conduct scenario planning and problem-solving to ensure optimal performance of new energy integration.
