Compliance Officer – Building Temporary secondment cover until June 2026 (possibility to extend) Looking for a role that keeps you out on site as much as it keeps you sharp at your desk? We are seeking a Compliance Officer - Building who thrives on variety. This role is a 50/50 split – one day you are on site inspecting and investigating potential breaches, the next you are back in the office preparing reports, interpreting legislation, and guiding the community with clear, practical advice. You will bring: Strong knowledge of the Building Act, Regulations, and National Construction Code The ability to explain complex compliance issues in a way constituents can understand A professional presence on site and in the office, comfortable delivering tough messages respectfully and backing them with evidence A willingness to manage both the investigative and administrative sides of the role The right candidate You will have a solid background in building or construction and a keen interest in digging deeper, whether that is through investigating potential breaches, interpreting legislation, or making sense of complex compliance requirements. You enjoy connecting the dots between what is happening on site and what the law requires, and you are motivated by making sure things are done right. This role suits someone who is curious, thorough, and confident in applying their technical knowledge in a practical way. This is your chance to step away from the tools and into a compliance role that makes a tangible impact, with the support of a collaborative team and the potential to extend beyond the secondment. If you have the construction knowledge, the communication skills, and the motivation to balance site visits with paperwork, we would love to hear from you. Apply now and bring your building expertise to where it really counts. For a confidential discussion, reach out to Emma Levett via email elevett@searsonbuck.com.au or phone 0438086617.
