About the Role Reporting to the Manager of Asset Engineering Planning and Coordination, this role will lead frontline signal engineering services across New South Wales. You'll provide technical leadership to a small team, mentoring and oversight of both signalling maintenance and minor design changes. Key responsibilities include: Managing signalling engineering services to ensure safe and reliable rail operations Providing technical support and assurance frameworks for asset maintenance teams Leading a skilled team with long tenure and rail backgrounds. Reviewing asset performance and driving predictive maintenance approaches Coordinating solutions to complex asset issues, sometimes after hours Developing and mentoring graduate engineers. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Newcastle, NSW, with a 5/2 roster. Some site travel is required (accommodation provided). Relocation support may also be available. About You You are a degree-qualified Electrical Engineer with strong expertise in rail signalling. You have a proven track record in either signalling maintenance or signalling design (with the ability to manage small design changes). To be successful, you will demonstrate: Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (essential) Graduate Diploma in Railway Signalling (highly regarded) ARTC Statement of Competency (SOC) in signalling maintenance (or ability to obtain) Strong leadership experience, with the ability to lead and motivate a technical team Knowledge of signalling principles, safe working systems and compliance frameworks Excellent analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills A collaborative, mentoring style that develops team capability.
