Location - ACT Security Clearance - Australian Citizens with minimum NV1 Clearance Length of Contract - Long Term (Greater than six months) Closing Date - 29/08/2025 Deliverables and services: Provide structural and substantive editing, as well as copyediting and proofreading, of a wide range of Defence publications. Collaborate with a small team of editors and multimedia specialists. Assist with publication structure. Assist with English expression, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines and graphics, and Defence writing conventions. Ensure appropriate format. Assist in developing (via multimedia specialist resources) draft diagrams into a finished product. Liaise directly with the Defence print and distribution team on behalf of the publication developer for the delivery of in-house and outsourced high-volume printing and distribution services. Maintain an auditable trail, using Objective, of changes to and decisions on Defence publications. Support development and certification of terminology in support. Share ideas, information and experiences through knowledge management. Attend domestic and international events as directed. Experience and Skills Sought: Minimum of 3 years' experience as a professional editor. Experience producing book-length manuscripts that comply with established style sheets. Fluency in the MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills. Experience working both independently and within a team environment. Ability to organise and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
