Iluka has also established a significant position in rare earth elements (rare earths). As an international supplier of critical minerals, Iluka’s products are used in an array of applications including technology, construction, medical, lifestyle and industrial uses. Iluka has existing mining and processing operations at Jacinth Ambrosia (SA), Cataby, Geraldton and Capel (WA). We are also executing major projects at Balranald (NSW) and Eneabba (WA) with combined expenditure in excess of $2B. An important new role has been established to deliver our sustaining capital program for our eastern region mining operations. About Balranald Iluka’s Balranald operation is located just outside of Balranald township in regional south-western NSW. The Balranald project is in execution and will be commissioned in 2025. The operation uses Iluka’s remotely operated, novel underground mining (UGM) technology to extract key critical minerals for processing through a new concentrator. The Balranald project is developing a fully equipped modern camp with facilities that include a gym, pool, sports courts, recreation rooms, Wi-Fi and Foxtel. About the role We are looking for a self-motivated, experienced and capable Project Coordinator to join Iluka’s sustaining capital project team at the Balranald site. Reporting to the site Project Manager – Balranald Sustaining Capital, the main focus of this role will be coordinating the efficient delivery of site sustaining capital projects by providing team leadership to construction and commissioning activities, including coordinating contractors, consultants, vendors and operational representatives. This role will have a high level of autonomy and has exposure through the full range of sustaining capital projects from scope of works development, organisation of plant, equipment and materials and management of construction and commissioning contractors. You will be accountable for the following: Supporting the ramp-up of the Balranald operation Assist the on-site operations stakeholders in the development project opportunities Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure project scoping, planning and execution can be quantified, scheduled and budgeted to achieve expected outcomes Manage the projects to achieve successful outcomes, measured in terms of safety, time, cost and quality Management of vendors, consultants and contractors to ensure conformity to business HSEC requirements and engineering / construction standards and procedures About you To be successful for this role, you will have: Demonstrated mining industry experience, predominantly in projects and with significant exposure to site construction, operations and maintenance Strong management of contractors, consultants and vendor on resource projects to lead construction and commissioning activities Mechanical (or other appropriate) trade certificate Demonstrated history of a proactive approach to workplace safety and the environment Leadership skills with the capacity to motivate, mentor and influence key stakeholders Ability to interpret design engineering, contracts, scheduling, cost control and project reporting Our offer to you Be supported through an inclusive and collaborative culture Up to 18 Weeks paid parental leave Ability to purchase additional annual leave Competitive salary and bonus structures Company share matching scheme You will be supported, empowered, included and encouraged to be the best version of yourself.
