In this role you will facilitate a culture of Occupational Health and Safety vigilance, accountability, ownership, awareness and leadership across the workplace. Responsibilities: Coordinate the health and safety systems within the project, including identifying hazards, assessing risk Recommend appropriate safety controls to the construction team, and provide advice on incident prevention and occupational health to management and employees. Ensure the effective implementation of Safety Management Systems Identify, review and analyse high-risk activities in conjunction with the appropriate personnel and recommend an approach to be taken Actively ensure that subcontractors and suppliers are complying with legislative, client and the alliances work health and safety and environmental requirements Be actively involved in the investigation and debrief of all Lost Time Injuries and critical incidents that occur on the project Assist with the timely response to client-raised issues, taking the opportunity to build positive relationships with said client Have a consistent presence at pre-start meetings Required Skills and Competencies Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety, or similar Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role post qualification Demonstrated experience in a Civil/Rail Infrastructure project environment Previous experience in incident investigation, ICAM experience highly desirable but not essential A comprehensive knowledge of Victorian OHS legislation and processes, including competence in the implementation of OHS change initiatives ACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 certification in Australia, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
