Job Description An 80-year group, COBRA promotes its own efficient business model, the result of the combination of decentralization, geographical diversification and technical specialization of more than 20,000 professionals in more than 43 countries. Cobra is divided into four main sectors of activity, Networks, Specialised installations, integrated projects and concession assets. ACEREZ, a partnership of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy, has been appointed preferred network operator by EnergyCo to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) transmission line network. The ACCIONA COBRA Joint Venture (ACJV) is the design and construction contractor for ACEREZ. The Central-West Orana Transmission Project will provide new high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and supporting infrastructure to transfer power generated by solar and wind projects to electricity consumers. The new infrastructure is expected to be operational by 2028 and will initially unlock up to 4.5 gigawatts of new network capacity. Location The successful candidate will be based in Australia and FIFO can be offered if you live outside of NSW. The project site is in Merotherie and work is based on a 14/7 roster staying in Camp. Buses will be setup for pickup and drop off points in Sydney, and other regional NSW centres. About the Role Our Central-West Orana project is currently seeking a dedicated Senior Civil Project Engineer to share their expertise within our growing Substation team. In this role, you will coordinate and control engineering works for the ACJV project, including technical, inspection, scheduling, planning, procurement, and quality control activities. You will assist the Area Manager/Construction Manager to ensure the project's safe, on-schedule, and budget-compliant completion. Provide leadership to subcontractors, ensuring quality workmanship on and off-site, while driving a commitment to quality standards and procedures Prioritise completion of outstanding defects, record non-conformances, and initiate corrective actions promptly Ensure compliance with all HSE policies and procedures, assess high-risk activities, and address safety and environmental issues immediately Support planning, design suitability, and resource management, ensuring effective project delivery and adherence to performance targets Monitor and control documentation flow, conduct team meetings, and maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders Supervise and coordinate resource allocation, fostering teamwork and ensuring all project participants meet contract requirements Manage cost control, budget performance, and subcontractor agreements, ensuring accurate profit/loss forecasting and financial performance Establish and maintain a positive relationship with clients to assist project delivery and enhance client satisfaction Required Skills and Competencies Preferably 6 years engineering experience in construction of infrastructure projects - ideally electrical Minimum 3 years of experience in a Senior Project Engineer role Bachelor’s degree (Civil Engineering) Presented problem solving / analytical skills Demonstrated relevant leadership skills Working knowledge of HS&E requirements Competent with cost control of projects Excellent communication – verbal and written Proficient in MS Office Package and knowledgeable in budgeting and planning software We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
