Experience Western Downs It's the people that make it The Opportunity The Asset Officer is responsible for the development and management of Council’s financial assets system in partnership with asset owners. The position provides quality financial information and specialist advice to ensure Council’s strategic financial direction is maintained. The key responsibilities include: (1) Undertaking accounting and administrative processes associated with assets and capital projects, including but not limited to: (a) maintaining and closing out capital works orders. (b) processing asset capitalisation, disposal, depreciation and revaluation processes. About Yourself A person in this position will need to hold a relevant qualification in Finance or Accounting or in a related field OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience. It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have: Previous experience in a similar role; and Sound knowledge of Local Government Legislation and the application of Australian Accounting Standards in a Local Government context.
