About Lyka: Lyka was founded in 2018 by Anna Podolsky , inspired by her dog, Lyka , who was suffering from chronic health issues despite being on “premium” kibble. Together with Gabriel Guedes (COO) and Dr. Matthew Muir (Integrative Veterinarian), they built Lyka from the ground up with one core belief: better food can radically improve a pet’s healthspan and quality of life . Lyka’s meals are vet-formulated and gently cooked from real food ingredients . Delivered via a flexible subscription model, Lyka meals have driven remarkable improvements for tens of thousands of customers, supporting gut health, reducing intolerances, improving energy and mobility, and even promoting hair growth. What began as home-cooked meals has since scaled into one of Australia’s fastest-growing consumer companies , a vertically integrated, tech-enabled brand that is transforming pet health nationwide. Lyka now operates from two offices, Sydney (HQ) and Melbourne , with three state-of-the-art food production facilities (two in Sydney, one in Melbourne) and a growing national footprint. At Lyka, we’re not just selling pet food—we’re pioneering a new standard of wellness for pets. With strong product-market fit, deep customer love, and a track record of rapid growth, we’re now entering our most ambitious chapter yet: building a generational brand and category-defining business with global impact. The Role: We’re on the hunt for a confident, creative, and highly motivated Social Media [Content Creator] to join our in-house marketing team at Lyka HQ in Alexandria on a 12 month full-time contract. In this role, you’ll work closely with our Social Media Manager to ideate, produce, and publish timely, trend-driven content that sparks engagement and builds brand love across Lyka’s social platforms. We’re seeking a creative storyteller who knows how to make social content stand out. You’ll take ownership of researching, scripting, producing, shooting, and editing content that’s built specifically for each platform, always with the audience and their scrolling habits in mind. You’ll be on the ground capturing engaging moments at events, community initiatives, and behind the scenes, helping us share our brand story in a way that feels authentic and exciting. You’ll also keep your finger on the pulse of trends and cultural moments, creating timely and relevant content that puts us right in the conversation. Day-to-day, you’ll schedule and publish posts, making sure every caption is sharp, on-brand, and optimised for the platform. You’ll monitor the performance of content, assist with reports, and utilise insights to inform smarter decisions. Collaboration will be a big part of your role too, whether that’s supporting the Social Media Manager, working with creators and partners, or engaging with communities directly to boost our visibility. We’ll also look to you to experiment with new formats, jump on emerging trends, and share your learnings with the wider team. If you’re someone who thrives on creativity, agility, and bringing fresh ideas to the table, this is the perfect role for you. Requirements We’re looking for someone with at least three years’ experience creating social-first content, whether that’s been in-house, agency side, or as a freelancer. You’ll be confident running the full content creation process from start to finish, coming up with ideas, scripting, producing, filming, directing talent (both people and dogs!), editing, publishing, and reporting. You should feel at home both behind and in front of the camera, and be comfortable featuring in content across our channels, whether that’s organic or paid. Being social-savvy is key; you’ll need to understand the nuances of TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn, and be chronically online, always in the know with the latest trends, formats, memes, creators, and platform updates. On the technical side, you’ll be proficient in video editing and design tools like CapCut, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite. You’ll also thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with different teams to turn ideas into engaging content. And of course, being genuinely dog-obsessed is a must, because everything we do is about creating happier, healthier lives for pets.
