The division also performs an important internal role for the Group by providing equities, markets, lending and transaction banking execution capabilities to other CBA business units that allows them to capture opportunities with business customers. Credit Portfolio Management (CPM) and is responsible for optimisation and active management of IB&M’s balance sheet and capital as well as supporting the pricing and origination of non-retail lending across the Group. Do the work that matters: The Senior Associate role supports the active portfolio management of the IB&M portfolio from both a risk and return on capital perspective. This will include identifying, analysing and executing transactions to distribute risk from the CBA portfolio to other banks and investors as well as to add risk via secondary loan markets where there is an appropriate return on capital. Potential transactions will include secondary loan sales and purchases, risk participations, credit insurance and CDS hedges as well as structured transactions. This role will have to the opportunity to be involved in; Financial modelling of potential transactions Analysing, interpreting and structuring of transactions to ensure optimal outcomes for both the bank and our clients Understanding prudential, policy and risk appetite to ensure that transactions are compliant Executing transactions end to end from inception to financial close as well as in-life management of those transactions until end of life. Developing strong relationships with a wide internal stakeholder network across Coverage, Capital Structuring and key support functions such as Risk, Tax, Finance and Legal Developing relationships with external counterparties that we may distribute risk to including insurers, brokers, peers at banks (CPM and loan trading desks) and investors / funds. Working in both structured and unstructured situations to resolve complex issues and meet customer needs We’re interested in hearing from people who have: Tertiary qualifications (Commerce / Economics / Finance preferred but not essential) An inquisitive mindset and ability to pick things up quickly An open approach to working on a variety of transactions that could be unstructured Prior experience in Coverage, Loan Product, Credit Risk or Credit Portfolio Management roles Intermediate to advanced Excel skills Good analytical skills with a strong attention to detail Effective communication skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders On the job knowledge of institutional lending, risk management, capital management and/or derivative products What we offer This permanent opportunity will give you exposure to wide variety of active portfolio management and complex transactions and will interact with a wide range of stakeholders at all levels of the business.
