About the Role: As the Purchasing Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the Logistics Operations Manager, being responsible for routine purchase orders, approving and control of inventory. Based in South Windsor, this opportunity is a part-time role averaging 25hours per week, with a flexible start and finish between 8 and 4am. Allowing you to develop multiple skills across warehousing and purchasing. Duties: · Receive inventory requests · Raise purchase order in our excel based system · Contact suppliers to place orders and follow up suppliers for outstanding orders · Communicate stock delivery dates to internal stakeholders · Assist to co-ordinate distribution of stock to delivery points internally · Assist internal stakeholders purchase requirements, assist to quantify needs of stakeholders · Assist with goods receival when required · Assist with stock take · Work closely with the Logistics Operations Manager to provide support across daily tasks The Ideal Candidate: · The ideal candidate for this role is a highly motivated professional with some experience in warehouse/purchasing of goods. · More specifically: · Excellent planning, organisational and problem-solving skills · Ability to multi-task and work unsupervised and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment · High attention to detail and accuracy · Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with customers and suppliers · Forklift license is desirable or willingness to obtain forklift license. To be successful: You must be reliable, have your own transportation to work, have very good attendance and can follow instructions as well as comply with work health and safety and safety guidelines.
