Community Speech and Language Therapist Location: Melbourne (VIC) Industry: Support Services Position: Full-Time (Flexible arrangements available) Salary: Available upon enquiry About the Role: We are seeking a passionate Community Speech and Language Therapist to join our client’s team in Melbourne. In this role, you’ll work with NDIS participants, conducting assessments and developing treatment plans to enhance communication skills, manage swallowing difficulties, and support overall client well-being. Key Responsibilities: Assess and diagnose expressive and receptive language skills using both standardized and informal measures Develop and implement treatment plans for speech, language, literacy, voice, fluency, and social communication Conduct swallowing assessments and manage mealtime strategies Provide assessment, recommendation, and training for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems Work independently in community settings and provide teletherapy/telehealth as needed Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Therapy/Speech Pathology Eligibility for Certified Practising Membership with Speech Pathology Australia Full open Australian Driver’s License Experience: Proven experience in community settings, with a background in developing and implementing treatment plans Familiarity with assessments such as PLS-5, WAB-R, CELF-5, CELF-P-2, and Mt Wilga HLT Knowledge of AAC systems and experience managing diverse conditions, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Alzheimer’s, and stroke Benefits: Flexible, full-time role with the option to work four days while receiving a five-day salary Company vehicle provided for community work Continuous access to training and professional development resources Supportive team environment and excellent career growth opportunities More About Our Client: Our client is a forward-thinking organization dedicated to providing person-centered care in the disability support sector.
