My client is a leading commercial real estate financier & investor with offices in Melbourne. They manage several billion dollars on behalf of institutional and high-net-worth investors. Due to continued business growth, a position has opened up for a talented Director. This position is responsible for the effective execution of various transactions across subordinated debt and equity. You will also oversee and manage a team of analysts and associates to ensure effective, accurate, and timely delivery of analysis and investment papers. This is an ideal opportunity for a talented property finance or investment professional looking for a leadership role with a leading real estate fund with a strong focus on transaction execution and people management. Upon successful hire, you will be responsible for the following: Lead the project team in initial investment analysis and coordination with internal and external stakeholders in structuring and negotiating mandate terms for equity, subordinated credit and complex credit investments. Oversee and contribute to the training and development of team members, whether on an individual or team basis. Project management and deal leadership in the execution and analysis of mandated and complex investments. Delivery, ongoing assessment and management of investment business plans, to include, where appropriate, the recommendation for amending or improving business plans. Management of external stakeholder relationships throughout the deal life cycle and ensuring negotiated outcomes are consistent with relevant approvals. Ensure the delivery of all fund, investor and transaction reporting on time and to the requisite assessment standard by deal team members. Manage the team's capacity and allocate tasks across the Investment team in coordination with the senior leadership team. Assist other teams with transactions when capacity constraints are evident. Assist with ancillary activities to the Investment Team, including recruitment, investor relations, capital raising initiatives and business strategy. Promotion of team and company policy, people and culture initiatives, company values and firm objectives. The ideal candidate will have the following: 10 years of experience in real estate across investment banking, private equity, corporate banking, treasury, advisory or investment management. High level of analysis, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail. Effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Strong problem-solving with the ability to identify issues and develop solutions. Strong teamwork philosophy. Strong commercial acumen and business partnering skills. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and financial modelling principles Accurate, high-quality analysis and reporting on a timely basis. Build strong relationships based on trust and respect.
