Located in Perth, we ae seeking a Technical Director – Substation Engineer to join a dynamic and professional team. The focus of the role will be to lead engineering and design of power Substation systems within the Energy Group .This position contributes to the winning, technical management and delivery of power consulting engineering projects as part of the Western Australian Energy team. Responsible for contributions in substation engineering and design as part of delivering major transmission design projects. Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in: Lead the design and delivery of substation engineering and design projects. Produce high quality technical reports, datasheets and primary drawings packages in conjunction with other members of the design team Provide technical leadership within the substation primary design teams. Managing the quality of deliverables produced by others, providing high level technical support and mentoring more junior engineers within the team Perform primary discipline lead role on complex transmission engineering projects, managing large scale grid connection processes with local utilities Directing and coordinating works to meet schedule, budget and quality requirements Managing and building client relationships. Liaising with clients and work to maintain existing client relationships with Power Utilities Leading and contributing to the preparation of proposals and bids for projects. Ensure the safety of people within the project team. Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with clients, GHD's Project Directors and Project Managers Communicating with clients, contractors and key clients, providing business development support All stages of the project life-cycle, from preparing bids to feasibility studies, consenting, detailed design and data analysis, and stakeholder management What you will bring to the team: Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) qualifications Knowledge of AIS/GIS Substation busbar configuration and layouts Demonstrated experience in writing scopes of work and specifications Skilled knowledge in the connection of generators to the grid A self-starter, proactive attitude with a strong desire for quality delivery. Strong alignment with GHD values. Experience in primary and secondary substation design – 11kV to 330kV, proficient knowledge of substation high voltage plant and equipment Competent knowledge of relevant Australian and International standards, industry guidelines and current industry practices. Experience working with Power Utilities a must Demonstrated professional judgement and commercial acumen, including identifying, assessing, evaluating and solving problems to brief and budget Knowledge of substation construction & commissioning methodologies; Interested?
