The Role This agricultural operation is a dynamic and recently established enterprise poised for further expansion, trading an impressive 100,000-plus head of livestock annually. The organisation seeks a dedicated Feedlot Farm Hand, specifically focused on livestock management, to fill an exciting full-time opportunity. The successful candidate will report directly to the Feedlot Manager and become an integral part of a vibrant team comprising both full-time and casual staff and seasonal livestock contractors. This full-time position operates on a flexible roster system and includes some weekend work. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of stock health management, including the ability to administer animal health requirements effectively. Proficiency in inducting and weighing livestock using innovative technology on Apple and Android platforms is essential. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate competence in the safe operation and maintenance of heavy farm machinery, which includes telehandlers, tractors, mixer wagons, and front-end loaders. An understanding of ration mixing and formulations, or a willingness to learn, combined with ambition and dedication, are highly desirable qualities that the successful candidate should possess. This modern feedlot is part of a larger agribusiness consortium and boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including undercover yards, EID drafting and weight crates, and a well-equipped woolshed. Construction began in 2020 and was successfully completed in 2022, highlighting the organisation's commitment to modern agricultural practices. The Offer An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate based on their experience, paired with comfortable on-farm housing, including utilities. Incentive-based KPIs are negotiable for the successful candidate. The property is close to the Mighty Murray River, offering many camping, fishing, and holiday destinations to suit the needs of most outdoor enthusiasts. It is ideally situated 170 km East of Adelaide and a further 7 hours' drive to Melbourne.
