We’re on the lookout for a technically astute, data-driven Senior Asset Engineer to lead the assessment, validation, and lifecycle management of pavement assets across the state. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on asset performance, inspection quality, and strategic maintenance planning. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our pavement infrastructure is safe, sustainable, and aligned with long-term transport goals. Day-to-day, you will: Lead and conduct condition assessments of pavement assets, ensuring compliance with regulations Manage asset data collection projects, overseeing scope, budget, and quality assurance Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to validate asset data and improve inspection outcomes Provide expert technical advice on pavement design, maintenance strategies, and risk mitigation Support the development and review of asset management standards and guidelines Drive innovation in pavement lifecycle planning and performance monitoring Contribute to emergency response and asset-related incident investigations as required This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including: A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with at least 5 years’ experience in pavement asset management Strong understanding of asset lifecycle principles, inspection protocols, and infrastructure standards Experience managing technical projects in transport or infrastructure environments Familiarity with HSE practices and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) Ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights Proven stakeholder engagement and the ability to influence technical outcomes Experience with large-scale civil infrastructure or road maintenance programs is highly regarded If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we encourage you to submit your application.
