Kittyhawk NY, located in Sydney CBD, is on the hunt for a Cellarhand!
Since reopening in April this year, Kittyhawk has transformed from a 1940’s Jazz Bar to a love letter to all things New York! DJ sets Wednesday – Saturday, spinning Funk, Soul, Disco and all the Hip Hop, Italian American cuisine out of the kitchen and plenty of delicious drinks flying out the bar. KHNY is a high energy, high volume cocktail bar and restaurant that focuses on giving guests a place to party.
As venue reopenings go, we’re finding ourselves busier than ever before, and we’re looking for a body that will be able to step up and help us succeed into our newly appointed 2AM licence! As duties go, your job will be to support the kitchen and the bar teams, whilst maintaining a clean and tidy workstations, procedures and health standards.
What does the job include
- Cleaning glassware, dishware and kitchen equipment during before/after/during service
- Supporting bartenders in restocking and resupplying the bar
- Restocking and supporting the kitchen (some Kitchen Prep work will occur on certain shifts in our events space)
- Helping clear glassware and plates off the floor
- Setting up and cleaning down your station at the start and end of your shift
- Occasionally support running food to tables
- Maintaining organization, health and safety standards in your daily duties
- Weekly cleans of Keg and Bin Rooms
We are looking to offer 30 – 35 hours a week, with the opportunity to discuss a full-time contract for the right person! We are chasing someone we can head into every shift with a positive attitude and a desire to help us grow this business whilst getting the opportunity to grow and develop themselves. This will be perfect for someone wanting to learn every aspect of a high volume bar/restaurant from the ground up whilst working under decades of collective hospitality experience in spirits, wine, food and service.
Please note, we aren't able to organise any sponsorship due to limits of the business, nor can we organise your payment to be off the books or in cash. At this stage we can no look at WHV or Student Visas as we will require this position to be held longer than 6 months and will go over Student Visa hours.
